I'm about done working on the cafe scene mural for Interfaith House in Chicago:

Interfaith House is a place of healing for ill and injured homeless adults in Chicago. The cafe scene mural is located on the wall behind the cafeteria serving line. Clients of the Interfaith House will see it at every meal they have there. Garry, my boss there, asked for a cafe scene that was cheerful and had hope for a better future in it. I used my signature bright colors and created a scene of cafe goers sitting at tables in front of a cafe and on a receding street going off into the distance. The cafe goers are multiracial to reflect the variety of clients served by Interfaith House. The buildings in the scene have a lot of windows which are a symbol of hope as they let the light in and view of the world beyond. I will go in a couple more times to do finishing touch ups on it and then coat it with polyacrylic. I am using water-based latex house paint.
It has been a wonderful experience working on this mural and getting to know the incredible staff and clients of Interfaith House.
